Right at the heart of it all is the Clifton Hill Fun Pass, offering bundled access to 6 top attractions for one set price. But is it a great deal for some classic Niagara Falls fun, or just another touristy gimmick? 

We bought these passes to experience Clifton Hill with our niece, and we had a blast. It’s a great package if you anticipate doing a few attractions, but there are great things and potential not-so-ideal things about buying this pass – so let’s break down what’s included, the pros and cons, and whether it’s the right fit for your visit!

The Clifton Hill Fun Pass is $39.95 for adults and $26.95 for children under 12. During the fall, winter, and early spring you can grab these for $34.95 and $22.95. You can purchase your passes online.

If you are a Costco member, you can snag these passes cheaper, even during the busy summer season. We picked up ours for $32.99/adults and $21.99/kids. I strongly recommend purchasing them from Costco if you can swing it. Clifton Hill Fun Passes are good for one year from date of purchase and you do not have to use all the attractions in one day. 

What’s included in the Clifton Hill Fun Pass?

If you’re planning a trip to Niagara Falls and considering the Clifton Hill Fun Pass, you’re likely wondering: Is it worth it? This pass offers access to six popular attractions at a discounted rate, which is great if you’re visiting Niagara Falls on a budget.

Any savings helps – because visiting the Falls can get really expensive. Clifton Hill is notorious for being pricey, and for this reason we never dine here, either. If you’re looking for a day of fun and want to grab something to eat afterwards, there are plenty of awesome places to eat on a budget in Niagara Falls!

1. Niagara SkyWheel

The Niagara SkyWheel is an iconic part of Niagara Falls’ landmarks! This 175-foot tall ferris wheel offers amazing views of Niagara Falls and the surrounding area! What I love the most is that each couple or family gets their own climate-controlled gondola (making it a great year-round attraction) and you don’t need to worry about sharing the experience with people you don’t know. 

The SkyWheel makes 3 full revolutions and regardless of whether you choose to ride it day or night, the views are spectacular. Plus, if you can time it right, it’s an amazing spot to watch the fireworks in Niagara Falls!

2. Zombie Attack

While this may be too scary for young kids, we had a blast with our 12 year old niece at Zombie Attack! This large theatre-type activity has plenty of seating with room for 36 that is classified as a XD Dark Ride Theater – meaning it’s a motion simulator, and allows you to feel the bumps and turns throughout the ride. 

It’s 3D, so you’ll be wearing glasses and will be seat-buckled in, and there’s a blaster gun to your side to aim and shoot at the zombies. We were laughing the whole time. At the end there’s a high score leaderboard put up on the screen, and while I tried my heart out, Dana actually got the top score!

I thought I’d like this activity the least but we had a ton of fun here.

3. Ghost Blasters Dark Ride

Located inside the Great Canadian Midway, Ghost Blasters Dark Ride is a fun and entertaining ride for people of all ages. This interactive black-light adventure features animatronic characters and animated props (like ghosts, skeletons, and goblins) and you’re taken through on a track with a laser gun to blast them away! Your score is kept track of, which makes it a ton of fun if you’re riding with someone else.

This is one of those activities that’s fun to do if you’re not waiting in line for ages – so get there early because it can get quite busy. We attempted this during the summer and the lineup was jam-packed, but when we went back in early spring on a Sunday morning we got right on. Timing can be everything!

4. Movieland Wax Museum

The Movieland Wax Museum in Niagara Falls offers a journey through the world of movies and pop culture! Featuring wax figures of famous celebrities, actors, and musicians, from classic Hollywood icons to today’s biggest stars, it’s a fun way to get up close to your idols set in movie scenes.

Keep in mind, this isn’t the same caliber of Ripley’s or Madame Tussauds (at all, really), and these wax figures made us laugh out loud with how they looked (because truthfully, most of them really don’t look like who they’re supposed to be), but it’s a super fun thing to do as a family and was certainly memorable!

5. Carnival Chaos OR Toy Store 4D

Your pass includes a choice of Carnival Chaos or Toy Store 4D. Since Carnival Chaos is a similar activity to Ghost Blasters and Zombie Attack (with laser targets) we opted for Toy Store 4D. 

It’s geared towards younger kids, but it was pretty cute to experience this motion simulator, where you’re aboard a vintage toy plane and soar through the toy store, dodging toys along the way. There’s up to 2 G’s of acceleration and seats are capable of 400 movements per second – making this experience almost lifelike!

I would say Carnival Chaos is more for older kids as you’re essentially blasting a laser gun at freaky carnival characters in a dark demonic setting. There are four riders to a cart on this ride simulator with 3D animation and sounds. Keep track of your high score and see who comes out ahead!

6. Wizard’s Golf OR Dinosaur Adventure Golf

Your Clifton Hill Fun Pass also includes a choice of two mini putt options: Wizard’s Golf (indoor) or Dinosaur Adventure Golf (outdoor).

On a beautiful day, Dinosaur Adventure Golf is a great option. There’s a huge volcano that goes off every so often (which is fun to watch from the SkyWheel, too!). You have a choice of an easier or more difficult course and it is Canada’s largest mini golf attraction! With 36 holes, you could easily spend a couple hours putting your way around 50 huge dinosaurs (some reaching 30 feet tall!).

For year-round fun, Wizard’s Golf is a fantastic option. We had a blast doing this! You’re underground in a glow-in-the-dark mini golf experience, themed to wizards and witches!

There are 18 fun holes to play that don’t take a long time to do, but the courses and decor is awesome. Your ball glows in the dark so you won’t have to worry about losing it! This was an activity we enjoyed so much we’d come back and do it again, even without the pass.

How much money do you save?

If you break down all the attractions and price them out individually, you’ll see that you will easily save money by purchasing the Fun Pass. The SkyWheel tickets alone are $15!

*Prices range based on chosen activity and when (and where) the Clifton Hill Fun Pass is purchased. Costco provides the best savings, as does visiting during the off-season.

Pros of the Clifton Hill Fun Pass

• Cost Savings: The pass saves you upwards of $30+ compared to buying individual tickets.
• Convenience: Having one pass for multiple attractions makes things easier – no need to line up for tickets – just scan your card at the turnstile!
• Flexibility: You have up to one year from the date of purchase to use the pass, and you can visit the attractions in any order.
• Family-Friendly: The attractions cater to a wide range of ages, making it suitable for families.
• Walkability: All attractions are located on Clifton Hill, within walking distance of each other.

Cons of the Clifton Hill Fun Pass

While I don’t really consider these cons, you have to really think about if these attractions are something you are interested in. There is a lot of cost savings, so if you’re looking for some family fun it’s definitely worthwhile, but if there are certain attractions you really want to do, this may not be the pass for you.

• Not Everything is Included: Keep in mind that Clifton Hill has many other popular attractions (like haunted houses, the Speedway, and the arcade) that are not included in Clifton Hill Fun Pass. If your main interests lie outside of the included list, the pass might not be worth it.
• Time Commitment: To truly get your money’s worth, you’ll need to dedicate a significant portion of your day to Clifton Hill and the included attractions. If you have limited time in Niagara Falls, you might prefer to pick and choose a few other experiences. This also depends on when you go, because in the early spring, fall, and winter in Niagara Falls, the crowds are pretty minimal and you can walk right up to these activities. We did half of our pass in an hour in early spring, but spent a couple hours doing the remaining three activities in the middle of the summer.
• Interest in all Attractions: Are you actually interested in doing all the included activities? If you have no desire to play mini-golf or aren’t a fan of 4D rides, you’re essentially paying for experiences you won’t use.
• Potential for Crowds: Clifton Hill can get very crowded, especially during peak season! This means you might still face lineups even with the Fun Pass, potentially eating into your time (if you’re short on that).

Tips for Maximizing Your Fun Pass

• Purchase Online: Buying the pass online is convenient – just print off your confirmation and redeem your passes at any of the attractions listed on the Fun Pass to receive your card. You can also purchase your pass at any of the attractions.
• Visit During Off-Peak Hours: To avoid crowds, consider visiting attractions early in the day or during weekdays, or off-season.
• Plan Ahead: Decide in advance which mini-golf and 4D ride options you prefer to make the most of your time. 

Is the Clifton Hill Fun Pass Worth It?

If you’re planning to experience multiple attractions on Clifton Hill, the Fun Pass offers excellent value and convenience. It’s worthwhile for families and first-time visitors looking to enjoy a variety of entertainment options and for families looking for ways to entertain their kids beyond the waterfalls.

However, if you’re only interested in one or two attractions, and would rather focus on the unique ways to experience Niagara Falls, or even the free things to do in Niagara Falls (because there are a lot!), purchasing individual tickets might be a better option.

You can also check coupon booklets around the Falls or at your hotel if you’re staying for a day or two – there are always some savings to be found.

We loved these passes and it was such a fun way to spend time with our niece in Niagara Falls. If you have the time and are looking for a fun outing, that’s what you’ll get.

We weren’t concerned about what we were doing, but rather just looking for a way to spend time together and share some laughs. The most important thing to us is that our niece had fun – nothing else mattered!

We also loved that we had a year to use it, and broke up the visit in two trips. You can easily do all of the attractions in a day, too. With attractions opening up at 10:00 am and staying open late (some of them until 2:00 am!) you have plenty of time to experience these activities.

For us, the Clifton Hill Fun Pass was definitely worth it, and we will do it again, too!

Where to Park

If you have the Niagara Parks Annual Parking Pass, you can park at the nearest parking lot that is included in the parking pass, which would be Niagara Parks Rainbow Bridge parking lot at 4348 Hiram Street (behind Bird Kingdom). From here it’s about a 10 minute walk to Clifton Hill. 

You can also use your parking pass at Victoria Place Restaurant, but parking is extremely limited and unless if you get there really early, you likely won’t find a parking spot.

If that parking lot is full, or you want to park a bit closer, there are a few independent parking lots surrounding Clifton Hill for as little as $5/hour. However, since these are independently owned, it’s known that the rates can change throughout the day.

There is also a massive parking lot along Clifton Hill. I have seen that parking lot charge anywhere from $15-$30 for the day.

You can also hop on the WEGO (which is free if you have a Niagara Falls Pass or Niagara Parks Annual Pass) and connects to a variety of stops in Niagara Falls.

1. Queen Victoria Park

No visit to Niagara Falls in the spring is complete without a stop at Queen Victoria Park. Located right across from the iconic waterfalls, this beautifully manicured park comes alive with an explosion of tulips, daffodils, and magnolias.

The perfectly landscaped gardens provide a picture-perfect setting for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing picnic with a view of the misty Falls in the background.

2. Dufferin Islands

For a more tranquil and natural setting, head to Dufferin Islands, a hidden gem just minutes from the main Falls area. This peaceful park features a collection of small islands connected by footbridges. There are plenty of picnic areas and it’s a great spot for birdwatching. We’ve seen all kinds of ducks, geese, and swans here. We’ve even seen a fox!

In the spring, wildflowers and blossoming trees add bursts of colour to this scenic spot, making it a worthwhile place to wander through.

3. Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens

Located just north of the Falls along the Niagara Parkway, the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens is a must-visit for those who love flowers and gardens. Home to over 99 acres of beautifully maintained gardens, this horticultural haven boasts a stunning display of spring blooms, including tulips, daffodils, and flowering trees. 

The best part is, it’s one of the many free things to do in Niagara Falls! Parking is paid, but you can wander to your heart’s content at the Botanical Gardens (or arrive by WEGO if you have a Niagara Parks Attraction pass!)

If you’re looking for something else to do while you’re visiting, the Botanical Gardens is on the same property as the Butterfly Conservatory, where you can admire exotic butterflies fluttering among tropical plants.

4. Centennial Lilac Garden

One of Niagara’s most fragrant springtime attractions, the Centennial Lilac Garden is a true hidden treasure. This expansive garden, located near the Floral Clock, features over 1,200 lilac bushes in a variety of colours and scents.

Peak bloom time typically occurs for a short couple of weeks in May, filling the air with a delightful floral fragrance that’s simply irresistible. It’s one place I make sure I get to every year!

5. Oakes Garden Theatre

Oakes Garden Theatre is located steps from the base of Clifton Hill, and offers a unique combination of beautiful landscaping and breathtaking views of the Falls.

In the spring, the gardens here bloom with a vibrant mix of tulips, creating a stunning contrast against the dramatic backdrop of Niagara Falls. It’s a peaceful spot that’s popular for photos, and remarkably quiet given its location!

6. Magnolia Alley

Magnolia Alley is one of Niagara’s most enchanting springtime sights. You can find it right in front of the Floral Showhouse! These walkways are lined with magnificent magnolia trees that burst into bloom with soft pink and white flowers.

The delicate petals create a dreamy, fairytale-like atmosphere. It’s a popular spot for photos (like, REALLY popular!) so if you want some gorgeous unobstructed photos, make sure to get there early in the morning or late afternoon! 

7. Floral Clock

While the Floral Clock is a stunning attraction year-round, it gets a fresh burst of life in the spring when thousands of colourful flowers are planted to create intricate designs.

Located along the Niagara Parkway right next to the Centennial Lilac Garden, this massive clock is a perfect stop for a quick photo opportunity and to admire the artistic floral displays.

8. Niagara Glen Nature Reserve

For those who prefer a more rugged and natural floral experience, the Niagara Glen Nature Reserve offers stunning wildflower displays along its scenic hiking trails.

As you wander through the ancient Carolinian forest, you’ll spot a variety of native spring flowers, like trilliums and bloodroots. Hiking here is one of my favourite spots and offers unparalleled views of the Niagara River.

9. Kingsbridge Park

Nestled along the Niagara River, Kingsbridge Park is a peaceful spot to enjoy spring’s beauty. The park features a variety of blossoming trees and colourful flower beds, all set against the scenic backdrop of the river.

It’s one of the best spots to see the cherry blossoms in Niagara, too! It’s a great place for a peaceful walk, a picnic, or just soaking in the fresh spring air and sunshine.

10. Queenston Heights Park

Perched atop the Niagara Escarpment, Queenston Heights Park (while technically in Niagara-on-the-Lake) offers a breathtaking blend of history and natural beauty. In the spring, the park’s gardens burst into bloom with vibrant tulips, daffodils, and cherry blossoms.

With scenic walking paths (including the start of the Bruce Trail, Laura Secord Legacy Trail, and self-guided War of 1812 trail), stunning river views, and an abundance of floral displays, it’s a must-visit spot for those looking to enjoy a peaceful and picturesque spring day.

11. Floral Showhouse

For a unique floral experience (year-round, not just in spring!), visit the Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse. This indoor botanical garden showcases an ever-changing array of stunning floral displays, with spring featuring vibrant hydrangeas, orchids, and tropical blooms. 

We LOVE visiting here with our Niagara Parks Annual Pass, since the display changes several times throughout the year and is the perfect spot to pop into if you need a burst of colour.

You don’t even have to go inside to see some spring blooms – the Floral Showhouse is surrounded by blossoming flowers – from tulips to daffodils, and is home to Magnolia Alley!

These two beautiful destinations are just under 30 km apart, making it easy to add a little extra charm to your Niagara adventure.  Whether you’re in the mood for a scenic drive or a peaceful bike ride along the Parkway, there are several great ways to make the journey.

Along the way, you’ll enjoy picturesque landscapes, historic sites, and plenty of reasons to stop and explore. And once you arrive, Niagara-on-the-Lake welcomes you with its award-winning wineries, boutique shops, fantastic restaurants, and lovely waterfront views. 

Here’s a breakdown of the best ways to get to Niagara-on-the-Lake from Niagara Falls!

1. Niagara Falls to Niagara-on-the-Lake by Car

Driving is the fastest and best way to get from Niagara Falls to Niagara-on-the-Lake, if you have a car. The trip takes about 25–30 minutes depending on traffic, and you’ll be treated to scenic views along the Niagara Parkway—a road once called “the prettiest Sunday drive in the world” by Winston Churchill.

Navigating Niagara tip: Take the Niagara Parkway for a scenic and relaxing ride. This road hugs the Niagara River and passes wineries, historic sites (like McFarland House which is a fantastic spot for afternoon tea!), picnic spots, cherry picking and peach picking farms, and lookout points. 

Parking in NOTL: There’s metered parking in town and paid lots near Queen Street. In the busy summer season, arriving early helps you score a good spot.

2. By Niagara-on-the-Lake WEGO Shuttle

If you don’t have a car, the second best option to get to Niagara-on-the-Lake from Niagara Falls is by taking the Niagara-on-the-Lake Shuttle, if you’re visiting during the typical tourist season which is from mid-April through mid-October. 

This shuttle connects to the WEGO bus service which extends past the Green Line’s Floral Clock stop. You can purchase an all day pass either at the Floral Clock or at Fort George in Niagara-on-the-Lake. 

Adults 13+: $25 – if you have purchased the Niagara Falls Adventure Plus Pass, your Niagara-on-the-Lake Shuttle is included!
Children 3-12: $15
Spring hours: 10:30 am – 6:30 pm departing every hour on the half hour from the Floral Clock and returning every hour on the hour from Fort George.
Summer hours:  9:30 am – 7:30 pm departing every hour on the half hour from the Floral Clock and returning every hour on the hour from Fort George.

3. Niagara-on-the-Lake Guided Tour

Of course, if you want to explore the best of what Niagara-on-the-Lake has to offer, the simplest and most cost effective way to do that is by taking a guided tour from Niagara Falls! Plenty of these tours depart from Toronto too, which is an added bonus if this is where you’re visiting from.

These tours will shuttle you to the highlights along the Niagara River to Niagara-on-the-Lake and either give you some free time in the historic area of NOTL or stop by a few wineries.

Some tours like this Niagara Falls Tour with Cruise and optional lunch from Niagara  offers bundling the thrilling boat cruise experience with lunch and Niagara-on-the-Lake, making it more of an added-value bang for your buck option!

There are plenty of tours to choose from, depending on what you really want to see. If you don’t want to piece your day together on your own and buy separate tickets, a guided tour may be the best option for you.

4. Niagara-on-the-Lake by Bike

If you’re up for some fresh air and gentle exercise, biking from Niagara Falls to Niagara-on-the-Lake is a fantastic option. The Niagara River Recreation Trail is a paved, dedicated path that stretches 56 km from Fort Erie to NOTL. The portion between Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake is just under 25 km and mostly flat.

You’ll pass wineries, parks, historic landmarks, and scenic overlooks along the way, and an ideal ride great for all fitness levels.

If you don’t have your own bike, there are bike rental shops in both Niagara Falls and NOTL, and some offer one-way rental packages or pickup services. If you’re in Niagara Falls, a great option is Snap E Bike Rentals.

We also see the Zoom Leisure Bike rentals all over the place in Niagara-on-the-Lake and they offer by the hour, half day and full day rental pricing!

5. By Taxi or Uber

If you’re looking for a convenient door-to-door option, a taxi or rideshare (like Uber) will get you there quickly. It’s more expensive than public transit (and the most expensive options as a whole), but great if you’re short on time or travelling with a group.

Estimated cost: Around $60-$100 round trip, depending on the time of day and traffic.

6. By Foot

While I wouldn’t normally recommend this because it would take ALL day, you do have the option if you really wanted to, to hike to Niagara-on-the-Lake from Niagara Falls.

From Clifton Hill it’s a length 22 km, but it is a scenic stroll along the Niagara Parkway. The path leads through quiet Queenston Village and connects with the Bruce Trail side trail.

The Bruce Trail begins from Queenston Heights, and one of the side trails (called the General Brock Side Trail) leads into Niagara-on-the-Lake. It’s a stunning, leisurely walk along the Niagara River and past wineries, historic sites, and peaceful viewpoints. From Queenston Heights it’s 12 km which would take you anywhere from 1.5 hours – 2.5 hours.

This would be something you’d need to stay over in Niagara-on-the-Lake for, and maybe pamper yourself with a spa visit at Pillar and Post or Spa at Q, or luxurious afternoon tea!

Magnolia Alley (also referred to as Magnolia Allée) is located outside the Floral Showhouse, just beyond the Horseshoe Falls and past the Niagara Parks Power Station. It’s one of the most popular spots for photos during spring, and really, it’s not hard to see why!

With over 50 magnolia trees, the picture-perfect pink, white, and purple hued petals are a show-stopping beauty that can be seen for free. 

If you’re looking for things to do in Niagara Falls during spring time, be sure to make a stop at the Floral Showhouse. The flowers open before the leaves of the magnolia trees do and there’s a sweet floral scent which fills the air, making the experience all the more captivating. 

When to visit Magnolia Alley

It’s best to visit Magnolia Alley in mid-late April, and even the beginning of May. It’s all dependent on the weather.

But fortunately there is a two-week bloom period, so there’s a good chance you’ll see them if you plan to visit Niagara Falls late April.

It’s entirely free to visit, so if you happen to be visiting the Falls during this time, it’s well worth a stop!

Making the most of your visit

If you want unobstructed views of Magnolia Alley, be sure to visit first thing in the morning before the crowds get there.

When I say it’s popular, I mean it’s really popular. You’ll see all kinds of families and photographers there getting their photos taken. 

After you stroll through Magnolia Allée, I recommend walking the rest of the grounds at the Floral Showhouse, where you’ll see tulips and daffodils too.

I also think it’s worth it to go inside the Floral Showhouse to see the gorgeous floral displays. You’ll also have access to the gardens there which have some cute miniature buildings and whimsical creatures.

There is a parking lot located at the Floral Showhouse you can park ($36/day or included in your Niagara Parks annual parking pass), or you can walk from Table Rock/Horseshoe Falls ($36/day). I recommend parking centrally and walking or taking the WEGO.

If you have a car and want to see more gorgeous spring blooms, head down to Kingsbridge Park, just down the Niagara Parkway for one of the best spots to see cherry blossoms in Niagara!

When to See the Fireworks

The Niagara Falls fireworks schedule runs from Victoria Day weekend (May) through Canadian Thanksgiving (October). During the peak summer season, you can catch fireworks every single night at 10:00 p.m. 

During the Winter Festival of Lights, shows are scheduled on weekends at 8:00 pm, so if you’re visiting Niagara Falls in the winter, be sure to line up your visit with a fireworks display to cap off your night!

The fireworks last between 5 – 10 minutes, and it truly is mesmerizing to watch them light up the sky, especially with the Falls as the backdrop!

Firework shows are extended to 9 minute displays on Canada Day (July 1), Independence Day (July 4th) and New Year’s Eve (December 31st).

Where to Watch the Niagara Falls Fireworks

The fireworks are launched from the Niagara Gorge, between the Canadian Horseshoe and the American Falls, making them visible from many popular viewing spots. There are so many fun ways to watch the dazzling display! Here are a few of my top picks:

1. Queen Victoria Park – Located right along the Niagara Parkway, this is the go-to spot for an up-close view. Get there early—especially in summer—as it gets busy fast!
2. Table Rock Centre – Just steps from the Horseshoe Falls, this elevated spot gives you a dazzling view of both the fireworks and the illuminated falls.
3. Niagara Parks Power Station (Power Station at Night) – this incredible experience allows you to see the fireworks from the base of the Falls, 180 feet down at the end of the Tunnel.
4. Evening Fireworks Cruise – a memorable way to see and experience Niagara Falls AND the fireworks show! What’s better than looking up at the night sky being illuminated by fireworks as you cruise by the Falls?!
5. Skylon Tower – Want to watch the fireworks from above? Head to the Skylon Tower’s observation deck or Revolving Dining Room for a truly unique perspective.
6. Niagara SkyWheel – if you can time this right (usually at least 5 minutes before the fireworks show) you can see the display from 175 feet above the Falls!
7. Fallsview Hotels – Many hotels offer rooms with stunning views of both the falls and the fireworks. It’s the perfect choice for a romantic night in.
8. Queen Victoria Place Restaurant – this amazing restaurant overlooks the Falls and is a fantastic option to end your day and meal off with a show.

Best Times to Arrive

Arriving early is key. During peak season, you’ll want to claim your spot early if you want clear viewing with no one in front of you – even earlier on weekends.

I personally loved standing near the Grand View Observation Deck  (near the Wildplay Niagara Zipline tower) and that’s where you’ll find the biggest crowds, so get there early if you want to secure a spot! 

Bring a blanket or lawn chair if you’re planning to watch from Queen Victoria Park and enjoy the atmosphere. 

The Falls are illuminated every night starting at dusk, so you’ll already be treated to a light show before the fireworks even begin!

Is it Free?

Yes! The fireworks show is one of the many completely free things to do in Niagara Falls. All you need to do is find your perfect viewing spot and enjoy the show.

Parking Tips

Parking near the falls can be tricky when it’s busy. Some options include:

• Niagara Falls Parking Lot A (at Table Rock) – $36/day during peak season
• Skylon Tower Parking Lot – ranges from $10-$20+ depending on the day
• Clifton Hill Parking Lot – $30/day
• Fallsview Casino Resort Parking – $50 (or complimentary with purchase or certain memberships)
• Queen Victoria Parking – $36/day – but very limited, nearly impossible to get a spot unless if you get there really early in the day and spend all day in the Falls, BUT is the most convenient location
• Independent parking lots near Clifton Hill – ranges in price (expect an average of $20)

You can also use the WEGO shuttle system, which connects major attractions, hotels, and parking areas throughout Niagara Falls – and is included in Niagara Parks Passes! The Falls Incline Railway can also come in handy if you’re staying over in the hotel area (and is also included in your Niagara Parks Pass).

What If It Rains?

Light rain usually won’t cancel the fireworks, but if there are high winds, heavy rain, or lightning, the show may be postponed or cancelled for safety. Niagara Parks is really good about posting on their social media or website for real-time updates if the weather looks like it may not cooperate. You can also call 1-877-642-7275 for an automated message about any cancellations.

Make It a Night to Remember!

Why not turn your fireworks adventure into a full evening? If you’re looking for some ways to fill the time, or are looking to make fun family night or date night out of it, here are some ideas to help you plan!

• Explore Clifton Hill – Mini golf, arcades, funhouses, and restaurants make this the “Street of Fun” by the Falls. The Niagara SkyWheel is a great spot to watch the fireworks from too, if you are able to time it right!
• Grab dinner with a view of the Falls– Try Massimo’s Italian or Table Rock House Restaurant for delicious eats and panoramic views.
• Take a stroll – A walk along the Niagara Parkway before dusk is the perfect lead-up to the main event.
• Book into a hotel room with a view of the Falls and watch the show from the comfort of your room!

Over the past couple of years I’ve found the best things to do in Niagara Falls – from the top attractions to ways to explore on a budget! As someone who lives here, I’ve been able to check out everything Niagara Falls has to offer to give you my best tips and advice. 

Whether you’re visiting on a day trip or for a long weekend, or as a local looking for something to do,  there are tons of fun ways to experience Niagara Falls solo, as a couple, or with your family. 

Lots of these activities provide an immersive experience and give you a fantastic overall history of the Falls, some are perfect for thrill-seekers, many offer peace and solitude away from the crowds, and others are just plain fun!

1. See Niagara Falls up Close!

Undoubtedly the reason you’re coming to Niagara Falls is to see the Falls itself! The Horseshoe Falls (also known as the Canadian Falls), American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls collectively make up Niagara Falls, and it’s quite a sight to see. 

It’s also the largest waterfall by volume in North America! Since you’re visiting the Canadian side, you’re in luck, because we have the best view of all three waterfalls.

Niagara Falls is open year-round and viewing the Falls is completely free to do.

There are tons of beautiful lookout points surrounding the waterfalls and along the walkway surrounding the Falls, but my favourite spot is at Table Rock. With lots of photo opportunities and mesmermizing views, visiting Niagara Falls is worth your journey alone! 

2. White Water Walk

White Water Walk is one of my favourite things to do in Niagara Falls. This beautiful 1000 foot boardwalk skirts along the rushing Class 6 White Water Rapids of the Niagara River.

Once you descend down 230 feet and walk through a 240 foot tunnel,  you’re greeted with the towering cliffs of the Niagara Gorge dating back 410 million years! All along the boardwalk you’ll find interesting facts about the Niagara River.

With numerous viewing platforms and tranquil surroundings, the White Water Walk is an unforgettable experience.

3. Niagara City Cruises

Another amazing thing to do in Niagara Falls is hopping aboard Niagara City Cruises! Also known as the Hornblower, there are very few attractions that get you close to Niagara Falls, and this is one of them. 

Be prepared to get wet! The cruise passes Bridal Veil Falls and the American Falls before getting you right up close to the base of the Horseshoe Falls. The views are unbelievable!

Here’s a tip I learned: Don’t go to the upper deck if you don’t want to get wet. Instead, head to the front of the boat. There’s a shielded plexiglass area you can duck behind at the turning point. Otherwise, hang on to your poncho, you’re going to need it!

4. Niagara Parks Power Station

Of all of the Niagara Falls attractions, the Niagara Parks Power Station offers the best bang for your buck. Of course, the huge draw to this place isn’t only all the history of the power plant and artefacts, it’s the 2,200 foot long tunnel to an amazing viewing platform of Niagara Falls.

The Tunnel is Niagara’s newest attraction, and it’s astounding to learn how it was excavated in 1901 with pickaxes, shovels, dynamite and lanterns! Descend down 180 feet in a glass elevator and be transported back in time.

The Tunnel was once used to expel spent waters back into the Niagara River, so you are literally walking through history before seeing the light at the end of the tunnel (ha!).

After admiring views of the American and Horseshoe Falls from the viewing platform, be sure to spend time in the Power Station itself – there is tons of history here (including some haunted history)!

5. Journey Behind the Falls

One of the most popular things to do in Niagara Falls is to visit Journey Behind the Falls, where you really do go behind the Horseshoe Falls! 

You’ll go 125 feet below ground by elevator and walk through 130 year old tunnels. It’s an amazing experience that leads you to two viewing portals and an awesome viewing platform with two levels and an observation deck.

The sound and vibrations from the Falls is truly a unique experience – one that will get you as close to Niagara Falls as possible!

Consider purchasing a Niagara Parks attraction pass to bundle Journey Behind the Falls with a few other popular Niagara Falls attractions!

6. Helicopter Tour over Niagara Falls

If you’re looking to experience Niagara Falls from above, what better way than to take a helicopter tour? 

This once-in-a-lifetime activity gives you breathtaking views of Niagara Falls, the Niagara River, Niagara Whirlpool, the Botanical Gardens, and more. Not many people can say they’ve flown over Niagara Falls in a helicopter! 

There are a variety of tours to pick from, including tours over vineyards with lunch and wine tastings, a tour and meal at the Skylon Tower, sunset tours and more!

7. Whirlpool Aero Car

Another one of my favourite things to do in Niagara Falls is the Whirlpool Aero Car; I tell everyone to do this one! This awe-inspiring experience transports you 250 ft above the Niagara Whirlpool on an old cable car that was built in 1916. 

This 3500 foot journey takes roughly 10 minutes and the views are seriously impressive. I’ve done it every season and each one is more beautiful than the last! The views are stunning and you’re given a bit of history about the Whirlpool while you’re suspended over it.

Due to the way the Niagara Gorge is positioned, you actually cross in and out of the USA four times (no passport required)!

8. Zipline to Niagara Falls

Looking for something a bit out of the ordinary? You can zipline to Niagara Falls! 

This adventurous activity is a memorable experience for people of all ages and will also provide some breathtaking views of Niagara Falls as you glide down a 2,200 foot zipline.

I recommend booking your Zipline tickets ahead of time – it gets really busy!

9. Hike at Niagara Glen Nature Reserve

One of my favourite places to hike in all of the Niagara Region is at the Niagara Glen Nature Reserve! 

Hiking down a staircase and deep into the Niagara Gorge transports you into an other-worldy atmosphere and it’s beautiful no matter the season.

There are numerous winding trails that lead you through tall forests, million-year-old boulders, and take you to breathtaking views of the Niagara River. Be prepared with sturdy shoes and water – you’re going to need it!

10. Dine with Views of Niagara Falls

What better way to remember your visit to Niagara Falls than dining with spectacular views? 

Some incredible places to eat in Niagara Falls with views of the Falls include Table Rock House Restaurant, Revolving Dining Room Restaurant at the Skylon Tower, and The Keg Fallsview-Embassy Suites – all of which I’ve been to and loved.

11. Power Station at Night

One of the most unique experiences in Niagara Falls has to be the Power Station at Night! This incredible immersive sound and lights show occurs after hours. 

You’ll learn about the transformation of water into electricity in a way you’d never think you would! 3D projections, interactive lights and images, and music create a captivating experience perfect for all ages.

Experience the Tunnel lit up with colourful LEDs as you make your way to the end for views of Niagara Falls lit up during the Falls Illumination! It’s one of those Niagara Falls attractions that’s stuck with me and we loved it!

12. Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens

If you’re looking for some peace and tranquility, head over to Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens. With free admission and something always in bloom, strolling through the Botanical Gardens offers some zen amongst the hubbub of Niagara Falls. 

Featuring 99 acres of landscaping, walking trails, herb garden, and a photo-worthy rose garden with over 2,400 roses, visiting the Botanical Gardens is a perfect addition for those seeking rest and relaxation.

13. Skylon Tower

As an iconic landmark in Niagara Falls, the Skylon Tower is a must-visit for anyone visiting the Falls. We love taking overseas visitors here because the views are amazing! 

An elevator takes you up 775 feet (in under a minute!) to an indoor and outdoor viewing deck with 360 views of Niagara Falls, Niagara Gorge, Toronto and Buffalo skylines and beyond. 

If you plan on dining at the Skylon Tower’s Revolving Dining Room Restaurant, your admission to the viewing decks are included.

14. Clifton Hill

There is endless fun to be had on Clifton Hill! This amusement area is packed full of things to do for the whole family, including Niagara Speedway, Movieland Wax Museum, miniputt, midway, Ripley’s Believe it or Not, haunted houses, and so much more.

I’d recommend getting the Clifton Hill 6 Adventure pass if you want to check out an attraction or two – it will save you lots of money in the long run!

15. Niagara SkyWheel

Located on Clifton Hill, the Niagara SkyWheel boasts amazing views of Niagara Falls from 175 feet up! 

Panoramic views in climate-controlled gondolas provide a unique experience year-round, and it’s one of Canada’s largest observation wheels!

16. Whirlpool Jet Boat

Hop on a thrilling jet boat and make your way through the Niagara River rapids and whirlpool with this top Niagara Falls attraction! 

Whirlpool Jet Boat tours promise an unforgettable experience amongst incredible scenery in this 45 minute heart-pumping attraction. 

You have a choice between two boat tours: one that gets you completely soaked or one that keeps you dry. Which one will you choose?

17. Fireworks and Falls Illumination

If you visit during the summer months and on special nights, you’ll be able to experience the Niagara Falls Fireworks and Falls Illumination! 

Every night at 10:00 pm starting Victoria Day Weekend until Thanksgiving weekend, there is an incredible fireworks show near the base of Niagara Falls. 

It’s Canada’s longest-running fireworks series! My favourite spots to watch the fireworks are at Queen Victoria Park and along the Falls promenade.

Additionally, every night (year-round) you are able to witness the Falls Illumination, when huge projector lights light up the Horseshoe, American, and Bridal Veil Falls with a dazzling display of lights. The lights change frequently to mark special occasions and holidays.

18. Butterfly Conservatory

The Butterfly Conservatory is a unique Niagara Falls attraction perfect for people of all ages. 

Start with a short introductory video (watch this, because it provides information on how the butterflies come to be!) before walking inside a huge domed conservatory filled with over 2,000 vibrantly coloured butterflies. Enjoy them fluttering around you, surrounded by lush tropical plants and water features.

As a great rainy day option or for a quieter day away from the busier Niagara Falls tourist area, a visit to the Butterfly Conservatory is educational and interactive!

The Butterfly Conservatory is located beside Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens which pairs perfectly with a visit to this end of Niagara Falls.

19. Bird Kingdom

Another fantastic immersive experience for kids and kids at heart is Bird Kingdom. This huge indoor aviary is the world’s largest free-flying aviary; there are hundreds of tropical birds here!

Explore pathways through multiple levels, interact and feed brightly-coloured lorikeets, and discover nocturnal creatures. 

20. Fallsview Casino & Casino Niagara

Want to try your luck? There are two casinos in Niagara Falls – Fallsview Casino and Casino Niagara – that offer a combined 4,800 slot machines and 170 table games! 

I prefer Fallsview Casino of the two; it’s newer, bigger, and offers a lot of shopping, dining, and hotel options nearby. We’ve had a blast at Casino Niagara too. It’s right by Clifton Hill, steps from all the attractions, and was the second casino to open in Ontario!

21. Fallsview Indoor WaterPark

Fallsview Indoor WaterPark is the perfect place for families who want it all: close access to the Falls, endless fun for kids, direct access to three hotels, and walking distance to attractions on Clifton Hill. 

With 16 waterslides, a huge indoor pool, hot springs and more, it’s been awarded Travellers’ Choice Award for Amusement Parks & Water Parks in Canada on TripAdvisor for 6 years (and counting!). 

Great for rainy days and for family fun at the end of a day exploring Niagara Falls.

22. Whirlpool Adventure Course

As a fun activity for families looking to burn off some extra energy, head over to the Whirlpool Adventure Course. 

This fun ropes course offers 41 obstacles, ziplines, and games over a series of challenges. The course is positioned along the Niagara River, so you’ll get some pretty awesome views, too!

23. Floral Clock

The Floral Clock is one of the largest clocks of its kind in the world, and it’s exactly what it sounds like! This huge clock is a whopping 40 feet in diameter and is adorned with plants and flowers. 

The arrangement changes twice a year – a monumental task considering there’s over 16,000 plants on the clock face! This special clock has been operating since the 1950s and is free to visit. 

24. Niagara Falls History Museum

Want to learn some history about Niagara Falls, beyond the Falls itself? Head over to the Niagara Falls History Museum. 

Here, you’ll find artefacts from the War of 1812, a community gallery, and of course, history about the geological formation of Niagara Falls and the death-defying daredevils.

25. Whirlpool Golf Course

Whirlpool Golf Course is one of Canada’s most highly rated public golf courses. 

This par 72 golf course has an incredible setting along the Niagara Parkway, with the backdrop of the Niagara Gorge and Whirlpool. 18 holes offer long fairways and plenty of traps and trees to navigate. Head to the Whirlpool Bar and Lounge afterwards to enjoy a delicious meal.

26. Centennial Lilac Garden

One of my favourite places to visit in Niagara Falls – and to be honest, is a bit of a hidden gem – is the Centennial Lilac Garden. 

Located right beside the Floral Clock, this seasonal garden blooms with over 200 varieties of fragrant lilacs every spring. 

Hundreds of blooms fill the air with their sweet scent, and combined with the soft white, pink, and purple hues of the lilacs, it makes a great backdrop for photos, relaxing strolls, and picnics.

27. Greg Frewin Theatre

Just steps from Clifton Hill is Greg Frewin Theatre, where you can witness a Vegas-style illusion show with one of the best magicians in the world! The Evolution Magic Show is a 1.5 hour performance featuring mind-bending illusions and incredible magic tricks in a family-friendly environment.

28. Queen Victoria Park

Queen Victoria Park in Niagara Falls is one of the most popular areas for picnicking and resting, just a short walk from Table Rock and Clifton Hill. 

With views of the Horseshoe Falls and American Falls, it’s a scenic spot with flowers, benches, and well-maintained grounds. 

My favourite time to see Queen Victoria Park is during the spring, when over 500,000 daffodils are on display, along with tulips and magnolias.

29. Kingsbridge Park

Located down the Niagara Parkway is Kingsbridge Park, a peaceful park offering a relaxing atmosphere along the Niagara River. 

It’s one of the best places in Niagara Falls to see the cherry blossoms seasonally, and with washrooms, covered pavilion, and plenty of parking, it’s a great spot for families to gather for picnics in the sun.

30. Floral Showhouse

Step inside a floral paradise at the Floral Showhouse. This stunning greenhouse is beautifully adorned with seasonal blooms which change several times a year to celebrate holidays and community events. 

It’s hard to pick which one is my favourite, but it’s extra special at Christmas. Walk outside to see the adorable dollhouse birdhouses and miniature buildings on display.

31. Niagara Scow

Did you know Niagara Falls has its very own shipwreck? 

The Niagara Scow, also known as the Iron Scow or the Old Scow, has been sitting just a few hundred feet from the brink of the Horseshoe Falls since 1918, when a rope attached to a tugboat towing the scow broke loose with two men on board! 

A harrowing 19 hour rescue took place and saved the men, and the Niagara Scow has remained more or less in the same place for over 100 years. It has moved during storms, and I’m sure one day it’ll go over the Falls. What a sight that will be!

32. Oakes Garden Theatre

Oakes Garden Theatre is a gorgeous area at the foot of Clifton Hill and offers a contrast to the business of the tourist area. 

This beautiful area overlooks the American and Bridal Veil Falls. Developed in the 1930s, the landscaping includes rock gardens, a wishing bridge, lily ponds, and shrub boards amongst a curved pergola overlooking an amphitheatre. 

Used for weddings, concerts, and photos, this surprising garden offers a feeling of whimsy.

33. Maple Leaf Place

If this is your first visit to Canada, you need to head to Maple Leaf Place! Here, you can try all sorts of maple syrup for free! 

Walk through the maple syrup factory, learn about Canadian culture, try maple syrup taffy, sample ice wine, and browse art made by Canadian artists. There is also a food court area featuring Canadian comfort foods. 

34. Dufferin Islands

The Dufferin Islands is a quiet, secluded park located a short distance from Niagara Falls. 

Bridges and footpaths connect a cluster of islands that offer a tranquil escape from the Falls area. You’ll find lots of waterfowl – like ducks and geese, and plenty of picnic areas to enjoy a quiet afternoon.

Dufferin Islands is also a top spot to visit for the annual Winter Festival of Lights, where 75 light displays and millions of lights are on display.

35. Great Wolf Lodge

Great Wolf Lodge is a huge indoor waterpark in Niagara Falls. Really – it’s HUGE! This 100,000 square foot waterpark offers endless family fun, dining options, and accommodations. 

Since it’s kept at 84 degrees year-round, it offers a perfect escape any time of year.

36. Drummond Hill Cemetery

A perfect stop for history buffs is Drummond Hill Cemetery. This cemetery in Niagara Falls is famously known as being the battleground of the Battle of Lundy’s Lane during the War of 1812. 

This was the bloodiest battle of the War of 1812 where 876 British and Canadian soldiers and 861 American soldiers were killed, wounded, or captured. 

You will also find Canada’s famous heroine, Laura Secord, buried here.

If you visit during the fall, you can join a cemetery tour. These are fascinating (albeit a bit spooky)!

38. Niagara Military Museum

If you’re into hidden gems and fascinating history, make time for the Niagara Military Museum during your visit to Niagara Falls. This small but mighty museum packs a punch with interactive exhibits, rare artifacts, and compelling stories from Canada’s military past.

Housed in a historic 1911 building that once served as an armoury, the museum covers everything from World War I and II to the Korean War and more recent missions. It’s a great way to learn something new, and the passionate staff and volunteers make the experience come alive with behind-the-scenes insights and personal stories you won’t find in a textbook.

If you are interested in visiting, make note that they’re open Thursday – Saturday 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. It’s free to visit, too!

Endless Things to do in Niagara Falls

As you can see, there’s no shortage of things to do in Niagara Falls! Whether you’re visiting for an afternoon, a day, a weekend, or a week, there are plenty of ways to enjoy a visit to Niagara Falls during any time of the year.

If you have the time, I highly recommend visiting Niagara-on-the-Lake too. Known for its wineries, there are plenty of other activities including boutique shopping, world-class dining, art galleries, scenic parks, and more!

2. Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens: A Floral Wonderland

Just a short drive from the Falls, the Niagara Botanical Gardens offers a tranquil escape. With 99 acres of beautifully maintained gardens, this spot is perfect for a relaxing stroll, a quiet picnic, or simply enjoying nature. And yes, admission is free!

Wander through a maze of colorful flowerbeds, marvel at the world-famous rose garden with over 2,400 varieties, and find peace among the towering trees of the arboretum. Whether you’re a plant enthusiast or just looking for a scenic picnic spot, this garden delivers beauty at every turn. Visit in the summer for the most vibrant blooms, or enjoy the quiet charm of the off-season.

3. Niagara Glen Nature Centre: A Hiker’s Paradise

Our favourite place to visit is the Niagara Glen Nature Centre (also called the Niagara Glen or Niagara Gorge). This amazing hiking area allows you to descend into the Niagara Gorge and explore a labyrinth of trails surrounded by ancient rock formations and pristine forests. 

Entrance is free (although parking is paid), you’ll get a unique perspective of the turquoise waters of the Niagara River and ancient forest. The trails range from easy to challenging, so there’s something for every fitness level. It’s also a great spot for a picnic and offers beautiful views from the top.

Don’t forget to stop by the Nature Centre itself, where you can learn about the unique geology and history of the area. It’s an unforgettable way to connect with the natural beauty of Niagara Falls.

4. Maple Syrup Tasting at Maple Leaf Place: Sweet (and Canadian!)

What’s more quintessentially Canadian than maple syrup!? At Maple Leaf Place, you can enjoy free tastings of this liquid gold while learning about how it’s made. Discover the difference between golden, amber, and dark syrups, and indulge in the rich, sweet flavors. 

The friendly staff will share tips on using maple syrup beyond pancakes (maple-glazed salmon, anyone?). While you’re there, check out the maple-themed products and learn a thing or two about this iconic Canadian treat. 

5.  Dufferin Islands: A Hidden Natural Haven

If you want a quiet escape, check out the Dufferin Islands. This peaceful retreat is just minutes from the roaring Falls. This secluded network of small islands is connected by charming footbridges and crisscrossed by walking paths, offering a quiet haven. The wildlife here is abundant, and it’s a great place to escape the crowds while still being close to the main attractions.

In winter, Dufferin Islands becomes a magical part of the Winter Festival of Lights, with sparkling displays that turn this serene spot into a twinkling wonderland. It’s the perfect place to unwind and soak in the natural beauty of Niagara.

6. Clifton Hill: The Street That Never Sleeps

Welcome to Clifton Hill, where fun is always on the agenda! While the attractions here come with a price tag, the vibrant street itself is an adventure to explore for free and there have been many times we’ve walked up and down looking at the attractions and people watching. 

Even if you’re on a strict budget, you can still soak up the carnival-like atmosphere. From colorful neon lights to quirky attractions, there’s always something to see! Window shopping and people-watching are top-tier entertainment here, and it’s a free way to experience the heart of Niagara’s entertainment and tourist area.

7. Scenic Walks Along the Niagara Falls Recreation Trail

Stretching alongside the Niagara River, the Niagara Falls Recreation Trail is a popular spot for walkers, joggers, and cyclists. Winston Churchill himself named this the “prettiest Sunday afternoon drive in the world.” And it truly is gorgeous, especially in the fall.

This picturesque trail offers stunning views of the river and greenery. Stop along the way to admire the Niagara Whirlpool or Floral Clock, or head in the direction of Fort Erie for lots of peaceful areas to stop and rest. You’ll pass by the Chippawa Battlefield, where a key clash was fought dring the War of 1812. American forces defeated the British, marking a significant victory near Niagara Falls.

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful solo stroll or a lively family outing, this trail offers it all.

8. Queenston Heights: History Meets Panoramic Views

Perched high above the Niagara River, Queenston Heights is a quiet place for a mix of nature and history. Stroll through beautifully landscaped gardens, soak in views of the Niagara River, or take a self-guided War of 1812 tour through the grounds and down to the charming village of Queenston. 

If you’re up for a hike, you can follow the footsteps of Laura Secord along the Laura Secord Legacy Trail, or start your Bruce Trail adventure – all beginning at Queenston Heights! 

The history here goes even further back – Queenston Heights is the birthplace of Niagara Falls. Roy Terrace is the area where Wisconsin glacier receded about 12,000 years ago. Fun fact – at the time, water only fell 35 feet over the escarpment!

Navigating Niagara Tip: In my opinion, this is the best spot to see the cherry blossoms during springtime. It’s also one of the most beautiful places to see the fall colours. Don’t miss out! In addition, and for a small fee during the summer, you can climb Brock’s Monument for panoramic views.

9. Heartland Forest: A Hidden Gem for Nature Lovers

You’ll need a car for this one, but for a tranquil escape into nature, Heartland Forest is a must-visit. This sprawling, family-friendly forest offers free access to its beautiful trails year-round.

Wander the accessible boardwalks that wind through wetlands, forests, and meadows, and keep an eye out for wildlife like turtles, frogs, and birds. There’s a treehouse, sensory garden, and natural playground, in addition to numerous signs about the local ecosystem. It’s a super cute spot for kids looking to stretch their legs without the crowds.

10. Cham Shan Buddhist Temple: Tranquility Meets Culture

If you’re seeking a serene escape, the Cham Shan Buddhist Temple is the place to be. Tucked away from the touristy bustle, this sanctuary translates to Ten Thousand Buddhas and offers a chance to soak in the spiritual atmosphere while admiring its intricate architecture. The temple’s stunning design and vibrant colors, makes it a picture-perfect peaceful spot. Wander through the gardens and pathways, take a moment to reflect, and feel the calming energy of this hidden gem. Visitors of all faiths are welcome. 

P.S. If you’d like to go inside the temple, it’s open only on weekends. And while no photos are allowed inside, it’s a gorgeous spot to soak in your surroundings. There is a massive golden Buddha surrounded by shelves of thousands of Buddhas – it’s quite a sight to see

11. Take a Historical Walk at Lundy’s Lane Battlefield

Want to learn more about the War of 1812? Check out Lundy’s Lane Battlefield (Drummond Hill Cemetery) where you can take a self-guided tour of the grounds. The Battle of Lundy’s Lane was the bloodiest battle during the War of 1812, where 876 British and Canadian soldiers and 861 American soldiers were killed, wounded, or captured. 

There are some interesting plaques around the cemetery, and you’ll even find Laura Secord (Canada’s famous heroine!) buried here. You’ll find a ton of old and unique headstones (there’s something so fascinating and peaceful about cemeteries, and you can learn a lot!). The oldest headstone dates back to 1797.

Drummond Hill Cemetery is known as one of Niagara’s most haunted places. What will you think?

12. Niagara Falls History Museum: Step Back in Time

Dive into the fascinating history of Niagara Falls at this charming museum, which offers free admission on Thursday evenings. Discover stories of daredevils who braved the Falls in barrels, learn about the area’s Indigenous history, and explore artifacts from the War of 1812.

It’s located near Lundy’s Lane Battlefield, a historic site worth a visit while you’re in the area. You’ll leave with a new appreciation for the rich history that shaped this iconic destination. If you visit in early November, you’ll have a chance to see their beautiful Poppy Project display!

If you really want to visit, but it’s not during a time when it’s free, the Niagara Falls History Museum is a very affordable $6/adult, $5/youth, and free under 5 years of age. 

13. Fireworks Over the Falls 

There’s nothing quite like the magic of fireworks lighting up the night sky over Niagara Falls. These free shows take place every night during the warmer months, usually from Victoria Day weekend in  May through to Thanksgiving in October, adding an extra sparkle to your visit!

Find the best spots to watch the fireworks at Queen Victoria Park or along the Niagara Parkway for the best views. During the Winter Festival of Lights, the fireworks also run on Friday and Saturday nights (just remember to dress warmly!).

14. Falls Illumination

Not only can you catch an amazing fireworks show, but every night (year-round!) you’re able to see the Falls Illumination, where huge projector lights light up the Horseshoe, American, and Bridal Veil Falls in an array of colours. They’re often themed to special occasions, holidays, and events.

15. Winter Festival of Lights: A Sparkling Spectacle

If you’re visiting Niagara Falls in the winter, you’re in for a treat. The Winter Festival of Lights, a completely free event that runs from November to January. Wander through kilometres of dazzling light displays and interactive displays, from illuminated wildlife, iconic Canadian statues, to stunning holiday scenes that stretches down the Niagara Parkway.

Don’t miss out on Dufferin Islands – my favourite part to drive through! The festival transforms the entire city into a glowing wonderland, and the best part is that it’s completely free to enjoy!

Bundle up, grab a hot chocolate from one of the many stops along the Festival’s Hot Chocolate Trail, and let the sparkling lights guide you through a magical winter experience. Even the Falls themselves take part in a vibrant display of colours.

16. The Niagara Scow: Niagara’s Very Own Shipwreck!

The Niagara Scow is a piece of history frozen in time—literally! This rusted barge, stranded near the brink of the Horseshoe Falls since 1918, is a fascinating reminder of both nature’s power and human resilience. The scow became lodged there after a daring rescue mission saved two crew members when the barge broke loose upstream. 

Over 100 years later, it’s still perched precariously in the rapids, weathered by time and the elements. You can view this historic relic from multiple vantage points along the Niagara Parkway. For the best view, head to the area near the upper rapids across from the Floral Showhouse and beside the old Toronto Power Generating Station.

17. Kingsbridge Park: A Prime Picnicking Place

Nestled near the base of the Horseshoe Falls, Kingsbridge Park is a peaceful space perfect for a picnic or a riverside stroll. It’s also a great spot for families, with open green spaces for kids to play.

Kingsbridge Park is a beautiful riverside escape where the Niagara River meets the Welland River a few minutes drive up the Niagara Parkway. A prime spot for cherry blossom viewing in spring, it’s also perfect for picnicking. You’ll find scenic walking and biking trails, lush green spaces, and plenty of shade from trees. 

It’s a great spot for kids to come and stretch their legs and enjoy a lazy day in the sun away from the crowds. During the summer you’ll find washrooms, a playground, and splashpad. Parking is available but paid, so plan accordingly before your visit! 

18.  Oakes Garden Theatre

Oakes Garden Theatre is a beautiful spot at the foot of Clifton Hill, offering a peaceful escape just a few feet from the busy Niagara Falls tourist area. With stunning views of the American and Bridal Veil Falls, this 1930s-designed garden is full of charm, featuring rock gardens, lily ponds, a wishing bridge, and a curved pergola framing a beautiful amphitheatre.

It’s often used for weddings and is a prime spot for taking that perfect photo! This is such a surprising spot in Niagara Falls that gives you a feeling of whimsy.

19. Magnolia Alley: Springtime Splendor

If you’re visiting Niagara Falls in spring, Magnolia Alley is a must-see! This dreamy pathway on either side of the Floral Showhouse comes alive with the blush-pink blooms of magnolia trees, creating a scene straight out of a storybook. It’s the perfect place for a leisurely stroll or a photo session.

A stunning array of 50 trees have to be seen in person to appreciate how beautiful they are. It’s one of my favourite spots to visit in the spring. It’s a very popular spot to come for photos, so it’s best to visit early in the day (and during the week, if you can!) for snapping pictures without people in them!

20. Floral Clock: A Blooming Marvel

Time truly blossoms at the Floral Clock, one of the largest of its kind in the world at a whopping 40 metres in diameter! This giant clock has been in operation since 1950 and is crafted from thousands of colorful plants, creating a living work of art that changes twice a year. 

Hang around for the chimes – every quarter hour you’ll be able to hear the Westminster chimes. 

Navigating Niagara tip: Take a walk behind the clock to see if the door is open – you can take a look inside and check out the clock mechanism and photos of almost every clock face since the 1950s!

21. Centennial Lilac Garden: A Fragrant Escape

Located right beside the Floral Clock is the most heavenly of places – the Centennial Lilac Garden. If you’re visiting in late spring, the Centennial Lilac Garden is an absolute treat for the senses. This lush garden boasts over 1,200 lilac bushes in full bloom, filling the air with their intoxicating fragrance.

Wander through the gardens, soak in the colours, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Whether you’re a photography enthusiast, a nature lover, or just someone who appreciates a good sniff of fresh lilacs (me!), this garden is the perfect spot to visit for free in Niagara Falls. 

Parking here is free (same with the Floral Clock!).

22.  Queen Street’s Cruising on the Q Car Show

Queen Street in Niagara Falls is an artsy and historic area filled with murals, boutique shops, and galleries. Strolling along this street costs nothing and offers a peek into the city’s creative side. There are also a ton of great places to eat here, like Hi-Lite (which is a fantastic place to visit on a budget!).

The best part about visiting Queen Street is visiting on Tuesday evenings starting at 5 in the summer for Cruising on the Q. This incredible car show is on every single Tuesday, usually from Victoria Day weekend through to early September.

Hundreds of classic, vintage, and unique cars line Queen Street. If you love all-things-auto, this is your place to see some cool cars without spending a cent! But to get the most of your time here, grab a meal at Taps Brewhouse (budget friendly!) or Paris Crepes – one of our favourite restaurants in the Falls.

23. Queen Victoria Park

Queen Victoria Park offers stunning views of the Falls, especially at night when the lights illuminate the cascading water. This beautifully landscaped park is between Table Rock and Clifton Hill, and features gardens, walking paths, and plenty of green space for a relaxing picnic.

It’s perfect for snapping photos or enjoying a peaceful stroll. Visit during spring to see thousands of tulips and daffodils on display! 

24. Visit the Niagara Military Museum

For a unique and educational stop in Niagara Falls, check out the Niagara Military Museum. Located in a former armoury built in 1911, this museum highlights Canada’s military history through engaging exhibits and a fascinating collection of artifacts.

From World War I and II to the Korean War and more recent military efforts, the displays offer a powerful glimpse into the experiences of Canadian service members. It’s totally free to visit and is open Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm.

25. Check out Daredevil Alley

If you’re craving a dose of adrenaline and a splash of Niagara’s wild history, stop by Daredevil Alley on Queen Street. Hidden away is this unique alleyway that pays homage to the fearless individuals who dared to challenge the mighty Falls.

From barrel plunges to tightrope walks, the alley showcases the audacious feats that have become legendary in Niagara’s lore. It’s worth stopping here after a bite to eat if you’re on Queen Street. My favourite stops here are Taps Brewhouse and Hi-Lite Cafe, both fantastic places to eat on a budget in Niagara Falls!

The Centennial Lilac Garden is one of my favourite free things to do in Niagara Falls – but blink and you’ll miss it! It’s only in bloom for a few short weeks every spring.

What is the Centennial Lilac Garden?

The Centennial Lilac Garden was planted in 1967 to mark Canada’s 100th birthday. Since then, it has blossomed into one of the most underrated gems in Niagara Falls!

With over 200 varieties of lilacs spread out across 10 acres, this garden is a paradise for lilac lovers, photographers, and anyone who appreciates a good floral Instagram moment.

Every spring, the garden transforms into a sea of purples, pinks, whites, and magentas — and the scent? Absolutely dreamy. You can catch me here stuffing lilacs up my nose – it’s probably one of my favourite smells in the world.

When’s the Best Time to Visit?

Lilacs don’t bloom for long — which makes catching them in their prime all the more special! It’s one of my favourite things to see during spring in Niagara.

• Peak bloom typically happens in early-mid May, depending on the weather. Early warm spells can make them bloom a little sooner, while chilly springs might delay the show by a week or two.
  
• For the best experience, keep an eye on Niagara Parks’ social media or using the Instagram location tag for Centennial Lilac Garden for real-time bloom updates.
  

Navigating Niagara tip: try to go in the morning or early evening to beat the crowds and catch the light at its dreamiest.

Why It’s Worth the Stop

If you’re after a sunny, peaceful spot to soak in some heavenly scents and beautiful blooms in Niagara Falls – this is your spot. In addition to being completely free (including parking!) it’s right next door to the Floral Clock – another stunning floral display that’s one of the largest of its kind.

The Centennial Lilac Garden is the perfect spot away from the busyness of Niagara Falls’ tourist area. Even when the lilacs are in peak bloom, it’s not overly crowded, and I really feel as though this place is somewhat of a hidden gem.

Pack a Picnic and Stay Awhile

Bring a blanket, a book, and some local goodies — this is picnic central. If you’re coming from Niagara-on-the-Lake, stop by a farm stand or market for fresh fruit, baked goods, or some local cheese.

Just a few minutes north, the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens offer 99 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens — and they’re free to enter! Plus, you’ll find the Butterfly Conservatory there, which is another favourite of mine. 

Niagara Glen Nature Reserve

Looking for something more active? The Niagara Glen offers rugged trails, forested paths, and jaw-dropping views of the Niagara River. Just don’t forget your hiking shoes – and bring a water bottle with you!

RiverBrink Art Museum

Just up the road in Queenston, the charming RiverBrink Art Museum features Canadian and international art in a peaceful, heritage setting.

Queenston Heights

With beautiful views of the Niagara River, vast green spaces, the beginning of the Bruce Trail and one of the prime spots to see the cherry blossoms in Niagara, Queenston Heights is an ideal spot for some rest and relaxation between Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake.

BUT! Here’s the good news: if you step a little off the beaten path (or just know where to look), there are some seriously awesome spots where you can eat well without spending a fortune.

Visiting Niagara Falls on a budget doesn’t have to end at exploring the free attractions. Whether you’re fueling up before a day of sightseeing or looking for a hidden gem locals love, this list has you covered. Here are my top picks for where to eat on a budget in Niagara Falls!

1. Taps Brewhouse

Great beer, great eats, and great prices—what more do you need? Taps Brewhouse is one of our top favourite places to visit in Niagara Falls. They serve up delicious pub fare in generous portions (like amazing nachos and wraps) in a laid back atmosphere. 

Everything on their menu is priced at $20 or less, and the craft beer is brewed on-site (and is surprisingly affordable)! If you’re not into beer, they also have affordable cocktails, wine, mocktails, and even beer cocktails to try – all reasonably priced. With plenty vegan options available, it’s a great spot that offers something for everyone.  It’s also a hub for local entertainment, offering live music, open mic nights, and trivia.

During the summer you can grab a seat on their outdoor patio – a perfect way to soak in the sun after seeing the top sights in Niagara Falls.

2. Country Fresh Donuts

Don’t let the name fool you—this place is so much more than donuts (though those are fantastic too)! Country Fresh Donuts is a local go-to for the best wonton soup around and an absolute gem of a place. It’s been family run since 1991 and offers delicious bowls of soup and donuts at a price you won’t find – even at fast-food establishments.

Last I checked, a small wonton soup was $4.14 and a large (VERY generous sizing) was $8.18!!! 

The portions are more than worth what you pay for, and the service is always friendly. If you’re just after a snack, grab one of their fresh donuts—glazed, jelly-filled, or chocolate dipped—and a coffee for a few bucks. It’s casual, it’s cozy, and it’s a place you’ll want to visit again before leaving town.

3. Hi-Lite Restaurant

Hi-Lite Restaurant is a classic Canadian diner in all the best ways—no-nonsense, locally loved, and full of old-school charm that’s been in operation for over 90 years! The menu is packed with breakfast platters, home-style lunches, and daily specials, with prices that feel like they’ve barely changed since the ’80s. 

Breakfast here is legendary—especially the all-day breakfast combos that feel like a throwback to another era. It’s the kind of spot where you can get eggs, toast, bacon, and coffee for less than a fancy latte.

We’ve eaten here more times than I can count, and everything has always been spot on – to the service, food, and pricing. You’ll rarely spend more than $10–$15 for a full meal with coffee. It’s the kind of place where regulars are greeted by name, the toast is always perfectly buttered, and the coffee refills are generous.

Hi-Lite Restaurant is closed on Sundays.

4. Chuck’s Roadhouse

A popular place to eat on a budget in Niagara Falls is Chuck’s Roadhouse. It’s known for one thing: delivering big portions and bold flavours at ridiculously good prices. Where else can you get a steak and lobster dinner for $25?! 

Their menu is a meat-lover’s dream, loaded with ribs, wings, burgers, and loaded nachos. But there’s something for everyone—including vegetarian-friendly options and a fun kids’ menu. There’s a huge menu with a ton of variety – and all the prices are incredibly affordable. It’s not just the price that makes Chuck’s worth visiting – the food is actually really good!

Daily drink specials and value deals (like 18 oz beers mixed drinks for $5 or $15 full racks of ribs on Wednesdays) make it easy to treat yourself without splurging. It’s a reliable option whether you’re heading out with the family, on a casual date night, or just need to satisfy a serious craving after exploring the Falls.

Dana and I LOVE Chuck’s – so if you’re wanting a satisfying meal without spending a ton, definitely add this place to your list.

5. Betty’s Restaurant

Betty’s Restaurant is a beloved local institution located just a few minutes outside the main tourist area—and it’s absolutely worth the short drive. This family-owned spot has been serving up homestyle meals for more than 50 years. The portions are huge (you might even have leftovers), and the prices are incredibly reasonable, especially for what you get. 

Famous for their fish and chips, roast beef dinners (for $21.99!), and homemade pies, Betty’s is the place to go if you’re craving comfort food done right. It’s also popular with locals (especially those of an older generation), which is always a good sign you’re getting quality at a fair price. There are daily specials to pick from, too, and a kids menu, for even more added value.

It can get really busy here (especially with bus groups), so something to keep in mind! If you’re visiting as a large family of 8 or more, it’s best to reserve a table.

Be sure to save room for dessert – their pies are awesome!

6. Queen’s Coach Restaurant

Tucked away from the tourist traps, Queen’s Coach is one of those spots that’s been quietly winning over locals for years. Located in a charming old coach house, Queen’s Coach serves classic diner-style meals at prices that are hard to beat. 

It’s especially popular for breakfast and lunch, with a loyal local following. The food is hearty (and provides classic comfort staples), the service is friendly, and it feels like a hidden piece of Niagara hospitality. Prices are refreshingly low for such generous portions. It’s the kind of place where you can still grab a full breakfast and coffee for under $10.

There’s even an entire vegan menu with tons of options – making this a great spot to eat plant-based while you’re in the Falls!

It can get super busy here (understandably) and you may have to wait a bit, especially if you come mid-late morning on weekends, but service is quick so you shouldn’t be waiting long!

7. Flying Saucer Restaurant

Yes, it really does look like a UFO from the outside. And yes, it’s worth a visit. The Flying Saucer is known for its fun retro space-themed decor and budget-friendly menu that’s been serving affordable meals to locals and visitors for decades. 

It’s especially popular with families (my parents took us here as kids all the time!), but honestly, anyone who loves good food at a ‘down to earth’ price will enjoy it. 

The breakfast is a standout (the E.T. Special is a must for large appetites!), or grab their Galaxy Special from 6:00 am – 10:00 am for $7.99! The lunch and dinner menus also offer up favourites like burgers, seafood, steak and ribs, sandwiches, and classic milkshakes. The vibe is fun, the prices are low (especially for a themed place like this), and it’s a great family-friendly spot that kids will remember long after the trip.

8. Cheryl’s Deli & Subs

Cheryl’s Deli & Subs is one of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it spots that locals love. It may not look flashy from the outside, but it’s full of small-town charm and touted as one of those places where the value is as good as the food, and is pretty much unanimously known as the place to get the best subs in Niagara.

The subs are massive, fresh, and loaded with toppings, and the prices are super reasonable. It’s a great place to grab something quick, filling, and made with care. Cheryl’s is truly a hidden gem in Niagara Falls for unbeatable prices.

9. Niko’s Place

If you’re craving a good old-fashioned burger and poutine combo, Niko’s Place is your new go-to. It’s a no-frills, takeout-style joint that’s all about big flavour and satisfying portions at prices that are hard to beat. 

Their hand-pressed burgers are juicy, their fries are perfectly crisp, and the gravy-smothered poutine is legit comfort food gold. They also serve hot dogs, fish and chips, and offer options for kids too – making it a great quick-stop eatery when you want something tasty without the wait—or the bill. Their portions are generous enough to split if you’re not starving (but you probably won’t want to).

10. CreekSides Ice Cream Parlour

Don’t be fooled by the name—while CreekSides Ice Cream Parlour does serve up amazing ice cream (and lots of it), they also offer affordable delicious subs in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. 

Tucked in the quiet community of Chippawa (about a 7 minute drive from Table Rock Centre) Creeksides is a favourite for locals looking for a quick bite and a sweet treat. The subs are fresh, flavourful, and fully loaded—perfect for a casual lunch or dinner on the go. I recommend grabbing your food and heading to a picnic table along the Welland River, or if you’re visiting Niagara in the spring, head to Kingsbridge Park to see the cherry blossoms.

And then there’s the ice cream: dozens of flavours, classic cones, sundaes, and milkshakes that are perfect for cooling off after a hot summer day by the Falls. Great food, great value, and totally kid-approved!

11. Zappi’s Pizza

Zappi’s Pizza is a family-owned pizzeria that’s been serving up delicious Italian comfort food just steps from the Falls for decades. Known for its friendly service, generous portions, and homemade dishes made from scratch, Zappi’s is a favourite for locals and tourists. If Dana and I are craving pizza, this is our go-to spot!

Their pizzas are loaded with toppings and baked to perfection, and the pastas—especially the baked lasagna—are hearty and satisfying. You’ll also find fresh salads, subs, and garlic bread that’s worth visiting for. Or, if you aren’t up to dining in, they have awesome pizza and wing specials for takeout.

The prices are refreshingly fair for a tourist area (4 of us dined here WITH drinks for $100 -which honestly I didn’t think was bad!), making this a cozy and affordable spot to enjoy a casual Italian meal without the fuss.

Navigating Niagara tip: There is free parking on site, but the parking lot is small. If you time it right (outside of peak dining hours) you can easily find a spot. You can also walk here and take the Falls Incline Railway from the Table Rock Centre parking lot (if you already have parking and a Niagara Falls attraction pass which includes rides on the Falls Incline).

Dining in Niagara Falls on a Budget

You don’t have to empty your wallet to enjoy good food in Niagara Falls! From cozy diners and delis to classic pubs and quirky restaurants, there are plenty of delicious options that prove you can eat well on a budget.

Visiting Niagara Falls on a budget is actually pretty easy, if you know what to do! With a little planning, you can experience breathtaking views, exciting attractions, and delicious food—all while sticking to your budget.

Here are my top five money-saving tips to help you make the most of your trip without overspending.

1. Visit During the Off-Season

On my top money-saving tips for Niagara Falls is visiting during the off-season or shoulder season, if you are able to. While summer is the most popular time to visit, traveling in the off-season (late fall, winter, and early spring) can save you money on accommodations and attractions. It’s also cheaper (and less busy) to stay during the week rather than a weekend, if you can swing it!

Many hotels offer significantly lower rates during these months, sometimes slashing prices by 50% or more. Some attractions (like Journey Behind the Falls) offer discounted rates during the winter and you’ll encounter fewer crowds, too.

Spring is a gorgeous time to visit, and if you time it right, you’ll be able to be among the first visitors to get into the attractions that have reopened for the season, like the Whirlpool Aero Car and White Water Walk (my top 2 things to do in Niagara Falls!).

You’ll also be able to catch the best of spring in the Niagara Region with the flowers blooming at places like Kingsbridge Park for cherry blossoms, Magnolia Alley for the stunning magnolias, and Queen Victoria Park for tulips and daffodils.

2. Take Advantage of Free Attractions

You don’t have to spend a fortune to enjoy Niagara Falls! Some of the best experiences are completely free, aside from seeing Niagara Falls in all its glory!

Some examples include:

• Viewing the falls from Queen Victoria Park, the perfect spot to take in the stunning scenery and snap memorable photos.
• Walk or bike along the Niagara Parkway, a scenic route that offers beautiful views of the river, gardens, and historical landmarks like the Floral Clock.
• Taste different grades of maple syrup for free and learn how its made at Maple Leaf Place. Don’t forget to try a Canadian favourite – frozen maple taffy!
• Exploring Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens, home to 99 acres of sprawling gardens and 80,000 plants, including a stunning rose garden! 
• Watching the Niagara Falls Illumination, where the falls are lit up in vibrant colours every night, and the fireworks displays (which runs daily from mid-May to Canadian Thanksgiving in October and during the Winter Festival of Lights on select nights), offering a dazzling nighttime spectacle—all at no cost!

3. Use Discount Attraction Passes

If you plan to visit multiple attractions, consider purchasing a Niagara Falls Adventure Pass, which bundles top attractions at a discounted rate. This is the BEST way to save money in Niagara Falls, as it packages everything together with a steep discount AND includes transport around the Falls on the WEGO bus. You can save anywhere from 18%-57% compared to buying everything separately, so it’s absolutely worth taking a look at.

Honestly, this is the top way to visit the Falls, and even though you can find deals on websites like Groupon and Travelzoo for dining and hotel stays in the area, if you’re planning to visit the attractions, this is the way to do it!

Navigating Niagara Tip: Are you a Costco member? You can get the Clifton Hill Fun Pass even cheaper at the warehouse at Costco in Niagara Falls and Stoney Creek (possibly other locations, but these are the two stores I’ve seen them at)!  Passes expire 1 year from the date of purchase. You don’t have to do all the attractions in one day either!

4. Eat Smart and Save on Dining

Dining near the Falls can be pricey (as with any popular tourist area!), but there are ways to save. 

• Enjoy local restaurants just a short drive or walk from the main tourist area. Places like Taps Brewhouse, Cheryl’s Deli & Subs, Betty’s Restaurant (you will need a car) and Chuck’s Roadhouse offer delicious food at reasonable prices in Niagara Falls.
• Choose lunch over dinner at sit-down restaurants, as many offer lunch specials at a fraction of the dinner price.
• Opt for takeout or picnic meals. There are some great picnic spots in Niagara Falls, like at Queenston Heights and Kingsbridge Park.
• Bring your own snacks and drinks to avoid the high prices at tourist hotspots.
• Fuel up with a big breakfast at places like Queen’s Coach or Hi-Lite Cafe to keep you going most of the day!

Navigating Niagara Tip: Expect to pay an additional 3%-12% in “destination marketing fees” when you dine in the tourist area. Be aware of this fee (not all establishments add this to the final bill) so you don’t tip on that amount, too. If you’re a local, you can always ask for them to remove this. We’ve had success doing this, so it doesn’t hurt to ask!

5. Park Strategically (or Use the WEGO!)

Parking near the falls can be expensive, with some lots charging $35 or more! Save money by:

• Invest in a Niagara Parks Parking Pass. It’s $50 for the year but pays for itself in as little as 2 visits (or even just a day if you drive and park at various parking lots across the Falls!)
• Purchase a Daily Parking Pass online when you purchase a Niagara Parks Attraction Pass or attraction tickets. It’s $31.86 + HST for the day, but allows you to park at any Niagara Parks parking lot. 
• Parking further away at locations like Rapidsview Parking Lot for $10 (includes free WEGO shuttle to Table Rock), or independent lots near Clifton Hill which range anywhere from $10-$30). You can also park for free at Fallsview Casino if you spend $50 or more in any of the participating stores.
• Using the WEGO Bus System, an affordable and convenient way to get around Niagara Falls without worrying about parking fees. A day pass costs a fraction of what you’d pay for multiple parking fees. This is the perfect option if you are visiting without a car, PLUS it’s included in Niagara Parks Attraction Passes!
• Checking hotel parking policies, as some accommodations like Clifton Victoria Inn at the Falls and the Glengate Hotel offer free parking for guests, making it a great value if you’re staying overnight.
• Utilizing street parking, which may be available at a lower cost or even free in certain areas outside the main tourist district.

Navigating Niagara Tip: Parking is free at the Whirlpool Aero Car, and is free at White Water Walk when you purchase a ticket or have a pass. Just enquire on your entry, and you will have to put a ticket on your dash.
