1. Niagara Falls from the Brink: Table Rock

For one of the most iconic views of Niagara Falls, head to Table Rock Welcome Centre. Here, you can stand right at the brink of the Horseshoe Falls, just a few feet from where millions of litres of water plunge over the edge every second. The thunderous roar, the crashing water, and the mist rising into the sky create an awe-inspiring experience that truly immerses you in the power of the Falls.

The best part is, it’s totally free to visit this spot, and the views up and down the Niagara Parkway aren’t bad either!

2. Get Soaked on a Boat Tour

One of the most classic ways to see the Falls is by getting right up close on a boat tour! Niagara City Cruises takes you on a Voyage to the Falls to the base of the Horseshoe Falls, where you’ll feel the raw power of the cascading water and get absolutely drenched in the mist (don’t worry, they provide ponchos!).

This is an unmissable experience if you want to truly feel the energy of Niagara Falls. Tours run from the spring until late fall (we’ve even done this on a brisk October day!) weather depending.

If you’re looking for something really unique, you can join an Evening Fireworks Cruise and experience the Falls Illumination and stunning fireworks show from below!

3. Journey Behind the Falls: Niagara Falls from Behind

If you’ve ever wanted to stand behind a waterfall, this is your chance! Journey Behind the Falls takes you through tunnels carved into the rock, leading to portals that open right behind the cascading water

You’ll hear the thunderous roar of the Falls from a whole new angle and step onto an outdoor observation deck for an up-close, misty view. This is the closest you’ll get to Niagara Falls!

It’s an amazing attraction to visit year-round and it’s especially beautiful during the winter. The lower viewing platform is closed due to icy conditions, but the views from the observation deck are breathtaking!

🎟️ Visiting from Toronto? Combine your transportation there with a Journey Behind the Falls and Niagara City Cruises package!

4. Take a Helicopter Tour for a Bird’s-Eye View

For the ultimate aerial perspective, hop on a Niagara Helicopters tour! You’ll soar over the waterfalls, the gorge, and the surrounding landscapes, capturing breathtaking views that you simply can’t get from the ground.

It’s a bit of a splurge, but totally worth it for the jaw-dropping scenery and the chance to see all three waterfalls from above.

5. Dine with a View at Skylon Tower

Want to dine with a view of Niagara Falls? The Skylon Tower’s Revolving Dining Room is the perfect spot! At 775 feet above the Falls, you’ll get a 360-degree panoramic view as the restaurant slowly rotates while you eat.

Whether you visit during the day for clear views or at night to see the Falls illuminated (bonus if you’re there for the fireworks!), this is a dining experience like no other in the area.

🎟️ Don’t have time to have a meal here? You can get tickets to the observation deck and you can visit when it suits your schedule!

6. Take a Zipline Over the Falls

Adrenaline junkies, this one’s for you! The WildPlay Zipline to the Falls lets you soar 220 feet above the Niagara Gorge at speeds of up to 70 km/hr. As you glide toward the Falls, you’ll get an unbeatable panoramic view of the rushing waters, mist, and stunning landscape. It’s a thrilling way to experience Niagara Falls from a whole new perspective!

Navigating Niagara tip: Due to the popularity of this activity, I recommend getting there first thing in the morning, especially during the height of summer.

7. Niagara Falls from a Historical Perspective: Niagara Parks Power Station & The Tunnel

For a unique historical perspective, visit the Niagara Parks Power Station. This restored power station offers interactive exhibits on how the Falls were harnessed for electricity.

Take an elevator 180 feet down to explore the 2200 foot tunnel leading to a viewing platform at the edge of the Niagara River next to the Horseshoe Falls. Here, you’ll get a mesmerizing historic-meets-modern view of the Falls while learning about the engineering marvels that shaped the region.

Visit at night to discover the Tunnel leading to the illuminated Falls before experiencing the Currents sound and light show. This is one of our Niagara Falls highlights

8. Experience the Falls at Night with Fireworks

Seeing the Falls during the day is spectacular, but have you ever seen them lit up at night with fireworks bursting in the sky

During the summer months and on select holidays, fireworks light up the night sky. Watching the Falls glow with vibrant hues while fireworks reflect off the water is a magical experience you won’t forget.

🎟️ Join an Evening Fireworks Cruise for a totally different perspective!

9. Experience the Falls Illumination

Niagara Falls is breathtaking by day, but at night, it transforms into a stunning light show! Every evening, the Falls are illuminated with vibrant colours that create a magical atmosphere.

Special themed illuminations occur throughout the year to celebrate holidays and events, making each visit unique. Head to Queen Victoria Park or the Table Rock area for some of the best views of this spectacular display.

10. Visit the Niagara SkyWheel

For a fun and relaxing view of the Falls, take a ride on the Niagara SkyWheel in Clifton Hill. This massive ferris wheel stands 175 feet tall and offers a climate-controlled, enclosed gondola ride with incredible views of Niagara Falls.

It’s especially magical at night when the Falls are illuminated, perfect for a date night or a family-friendly way to experience the beauty of the area.
