Relax, Unwind, and Explore: 10 Things to Do in Jordan Village

If you’ve never visited Jordan Village in the Town of Lincoln, you’re missing out on one of Niagara’s hidden gems! This charming village in Jordan is chock-full of things to do, including visiting cute shops, dining at restaurants, hiking, sampling local wine, and even relaxing at a spa!

With close proximity to hiking trails and other wineries in Niagara, a visit to Jordan Village makes a worthy stop or even a destination in itself.

As someone who was born and raised in the Niagara Region and has been living just down the street in Beamsville for the past decade, I can tell you that Jordan Village is definitely one of the best-kept secrets.

Where is Jordan Village?

Many people bypass Jordan Village on the way to Niagara Falls or Niagara-on-the-Lake. But what they don’t realize is they can beat the crowds and drive a lot less and still get the same amazing experiences they’d get further away!

Just past Beamsville and Vineland is the quiet and charming village of Jordan. It’s part of the Town of Lincoln which encompasses townships of Beamsville and Vineland as well as the tiny townships of Campden, Rockway, Tintern, and Vineland Station. You may also have heard of Jordan being referred to as Jordan Station, Jordan Village, or just Jordan.

Jordan Village offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a foodie, or someone seeking a tranquil escape, Jordan Village has something for everyone. Wondering what to do while you’re visiting Jordan? Here are some of my favourite things to do.

P.s. Parking is free all throughout the village!

1. Start the Day at a Bakery

I love visiting Jordan Village on a quiet weekend morning. The streets are so peaceful and the atmosphere is so relaxing. Start the day at RPM Bakehouse, owned by award-winning Pearl Morissette. It’s one of the great places to go for brunch in the area, and you’ll have a choice of pastries and breakfast items using the highest-quality grains and ingredients and Canadian-sourced coffee.

For lighter bites and plant-based options, head to Plant No. 1, a small batch kitchen offering delicious vegan (and some gluten-free) options and hot drinks.

During the warmer months at both RPM and Plant No. 1 there’s a lovely patio to sit outside and enjoy your food and drinks.

2. Explore Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre

Begin your journey by immersing yourself in the rich history of Jordan at the Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre.

The museum showcases artifacts and exhibits that bring the region’s past to life, including permanent and rotating local exhibits. There are also two historic buildings on site and an early-settler cemetery to check out!

There are drop-in tours in July and August where you can be guided through the 1815 Fry House and 1859 Schoolhouse.

3. Sample Local Wine in Niagara Wine Country

While Jordan is in the heart of Lincoln’s wine country, you don’t have to leave the village to enjoy some wine! Head to Cave Spring Winery’s Tasting Room right on Main Street from some local wine.

However, I really do encourage you to take a short drive to any number of surrounding wineries to sample the world-class wine that has put the Niagara Region on the map!

Pick from Calamus Estates Winery (6 minute drive), Vineland Estates Winery (10 minute drive), or Stonewall Estates (8 minute drive), just to name a few of my absolute favourites – believe me, there are too many to list!

4. Stroll Through Boutique Shops

Jordan Village is home to a charming array of boutique shops and galleries. Take a leisurely stroll along Main Street and explore unique stores offering handmade crafts, clothing, local artwork, and one-of-a-kind souvenirs.

5. Relax at the Spa

Pamper yourself with a relaxing spa treatment at Spa on the Twenty. Treat yourself to a  rejuvenating massage, a refreshing facial, manicures and pedicures, or a luxurious body wrap. It’s the ultimate way to unwind and indulge in some well-deserved self-care!

6. Dine at Jordan Village restaurants

Jordan Village boasts a diverse culinary scene, offering a variety of dining options highlighting local ingredients. From cozy cafes to upscale restaurants, you’ll find a range of delectable dishes.

Pick from the relaxed Jordan House Tavern offering elevated pub food or Inn on the Twenty featuring upscale Canadian cuisine in an elegant, relaxed environment and beautiful views. If you’re visiting Inn on the Twenty for lunch, they have a $45, 3-course Winemaker’s Luncheon which is a great way to sample local, seasonal ingredients.

7. Visit an Art Gallery

Jordan Village is home to a vibrant arts community, and local galleries showcase a diverse range of artistic expressions. Take some time to explore Northern Expressions Inuit Art Gallery and Jordan Art Gallery featuring local artists.

8. Take a hike

With numerous nearby hiking trails, Jordan Village is a central spot to connect to these trails. One of my favourite waterfall hikes, Ball’s Falls, is just a few minutes’ drive away, or connect to the Twenty Valley hiking trail which has direct access from Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre. From there, you can also access the Bruce Trail for endless kilometres of hiking.

I love going for a hike nearby and stopping in Jordan afterwards for a treat from one of the bakeries!

9. Attend Local Events

Jordan Village often hosts festivals, markets, and cultural events. Whether it’s a wine festival, an art fair, or a community celebration, participating in local events can add an extra layer of enjoyment to your visit. Special events include the Art Lives Here Festival in June, Harvest Pioneer Day in September and the Starlight Market in November.

10. Make a Getaway out of it!

With such a serene environment, Jordan Village makes for a great staycation escape. Pick from the Jordan House or Inn on the Twenty and take full advantage of what this charming area of Niagara has to offer!

Pin it for later!
